The words came pouring out ☔️
I enjoyed a rainy day of discounts plus the last of the summer offers!
It does feel like summer is starting to draw to a close. The weather’s cooled a little and there’s not much of the school holidays left. The Edinburgh Fringe is over (although I have just booked my accommodation for next year!) and summer ticket deals are drawing to a close. I was also expecting a nice sunny two-show day in London on Saturday, but instead found myself sheltering from torrential rain at the National. At least the shows were good and I got some writing done!
I took advantage of my favourite rush scheme to nab an amazing top price stalls seat for just £10 to see The Grapes of Wrath at the Lyttleton. It is brilliantly staged and superbly acted. It's not the happiest of plots, but for a show adapted from a novel of the 1930s, there are many modern parallels to be drawn.
I then moved on to catch Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York) before it closes this week. If you do have a spare evening in the next few days, it is a really sweet musical. And I got another great stalls seat, this time for just £25 thanks to the TodayTix rush.
So for just £35 I saw two top shows from two great seats and saved £123! I'm sure you can see why I love recommending a good rush scheme…
Happy ticket-buying!
