It was nice to get back to some theatre trips over the last week, among rehearsals and production meetings for my two shows of course. I treated my mum to Six the Musical in Chichester on Thursday - it’s her favourite show (and one of mine too). We were trying to work out how many times we’ve seen it now. I think my superfan mum may be beating me on the tally! It’s fantastic how its a show for all ages - it really does have mass appeal and that can be really rare.
I still remember the first time I saw it, back in its early days at Edinburgh Festival in the big purple cow! I remember raving about it to friends and telling them to catch it in London just a few weeks later. It’s now a solid global hit, having just won its third WhatsOnStage Award for Best West End Show.
Speaking of Edinburgh - I am very excited to say that I’ll be heading back to the Festival this year. I haven’t been since before the pandemic and I’m so excited to see some fringe theatre again. If you are putting on a show and want some publicity or a review, reply to this email and send me some details. I’m there 18-24 Aug. I’m particularly interested in new musicals and anything related to mental health. On the other side too, let me know what content you might want to see from my trip! I will of course be documenting what I see on social media. 🏴
Happy ticket-buying!
