Hello again! Well as you may have noticed, I took a little unplanned fortnight off newsletters. Apologies if you’ve been missing your Bums on Seats fix - I’ve had a lot going on and it was just an added pressure I didn’t need, especially when negotiating some major health anxiety incidents! But I’m back, after living my best life as a squirrel-riding, limb-ripping oompa loompa. We closed Charlie and the Chocolate Factory with three sold out performances and a lot of laughs. I also had some fun days off work trying out Taskmaster: the Live Experience and rinsing Brighton pier of prizes on a mini break. So the good news is I’m feeling a bit more rested and relaxed, and am once again ready for some theatre!
It was nice to get back to watching some theatre again after a busy final few weeks being an oompa loompa! I headed down to Chichester to catch another performance of one of my favourite shows, Come From Away. There’s only a couple of stops left on that tour and it’s been selling really well, so don’t miss your chance to see it. I was also treated to two brilliant amateur performances with The Color Purple from Sedos and The Grinning Man from WLOS. And speaking of WLOS…
I am very excited to announce I’ll be choreographing another show in 2025! I’m over the moon to be getting my Fosse on and work on Sweet Charity with WLOS. I’m sure you’ll hear a lot more about it over the next few months of newsletters. But until then I’m gonna leave you with a whole load of Black Friday offers to enjoy.
Happy ticket-buying!

In the news this week…
I’m kind of a big deal
See it Live in 2025 (the newly branded New Year Sale) is now fully launched, with thousands of tickets available for performances of London shows next year. I usually do a separate newsletter for this one, but to be completely honest, the deals are sadly just not as great as they have been. I used to rave about their £10 tickets, however just one big West End show is offering them this year - Fawlty Towers.
That doesn’t mean there’s not still money to be saved though! Here’s a few of the best deals I can see which offer a nice balance between views and value for money.
If you’re looking for a cheaper family outing, there’s still some £10 tickets on offer for popular kids shows such as Horrible Histories: Horrible Christmas, Maddie Moate’s Very Curious Christmas and Room on the Broom.
I’d recommend the £20 tickets at the front of the balcony for Hadestown - I sat there on press night and was pleasantly surprised at how close I felt to the action. Expect to lean a little bit though! If that doesn’t appeal to you, the £30 ones are good too.
The Lion King remains one of the best shows that offer pretty good tickets in this deal. You can get side stall tickets for just £30 - they may be restricted but you are near the magic!
There’s some good £30 tickets in the centre of the dress circle for Elektra.
Almost all the tickets for The Lightning Thief are reduced to £30, and The Other Palace has good views from pretty much every seat.
And at the higher end of things, it’s worth looking at seats for The Phantom of the Opera, Les Misérables and Six. These shows rarely discount their tickets, so although they are mainly £40+ even in this sale, those might be the biggest savings you’ll find all year!
Hey big spender
Here’s your discounts, offers and cheap seats this week.
🏃 New rush alert! You can now get £25.50 tickets to The Lightning Thief and £29.50 tickets for Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake. They’re available every morning at 10am on the TodayTix app.
