Ever get a bit overwhelmed by all the theatre there is to see? I’m feeling a bit like that at the moment. There has been so many exciting announcements about new shows and new casts over the last few weeks. I feel like I have a list as long as my arm of things I want to book. (Read ‘need’ to book!) Pay day can’t come soon enough.
I think it’s been made worse by the pandemic. After two years of little to see, I suddenly feel spoilt for choice! It seems like the industry is finally healing and getting new work on to the stage. Of course, not everyone is back to normal, whatever that is these days, and I’m sure local shows are still struggling a fair bit. I found quite a few regional offers for this week’s newsletter so if any are near you, maybe try going to a theatre you haven’t been to before. Spend some money in a new place and see where it takes you.
Speaking of exciting announcements… we heard about new productions of Noises Off, Titanic and The Witches of Eastwick this week. There were very exciting cast announcements for Legally Blonde, 101 Dalmatians and Sister Act. And Kristian Lavercombe, who plays Riff Raff in The Rocky Horror Show, performed in his 2,000th show this week! Great scott!
Happy ticket-buying!
