Dancing in the devil's shoes 👠
I review Craig Revel Horwood in panto, plus loads of offers from £10
AD - my tickets to the show were gifted, but my review is completely impartial!
It’s that time of year again. (Oh no it isn’t…) On Monday I went on my annual trip to the New Wimbledon Theatre for my first panto press night of the season. This year it was Cinderella, led by Strictly Come Dancing’s very own panto villain, the one and only Craig Revel Horwood.
I’ve seen Craig in panto before so knew I’d be in for a treat. But he really did throw the entire kitchen sink at this one. Not only did he belt out some big songs like I Will Survive, he salsa-ed through full-on glitzy dance numbers with the ensemble and had character to boot. The script was suitably packed with Strictly puns too. In fact, he was such a hit the audience struggled to boo for him! I’m not sure I’ve ever seen the baddie win over an audience with such a great dance number.
We were treated to some excellent magic by Pete Firman, and Cassie Compton gave some wonderful vocals as Cinderella herself. Along with the usual panto magic and dazzling costumes, it really was the perfect start to the Christmas countdown. Cinderella runs until 7 Jan 2024 and you can get your tickets now!
Happy ticket-buying!
