A newsletter?! Yes, finally! Sorry for the radio silence. I completely underestimated how little time I would have doing a full- time job alongside tech-ing and opening a brand new professional production! But now we are open, Iām back. Iāll be taking another couple of weeks off for some actual holiday for the rest of August, but Iāll be back as usual with a weekly newsletter from September. For now though, hereās a little insight into what the past month has had in store!
As Iāve mentioned previously, Iāve had the absolute privilege of being a part of the cast of the new Anne Boleyn the Musical in its premiere at Hever Castle in Kent, the home of Anne Boleyn herself! Itās been a whirlwind but Iāve absolutely loved it. Donāt get me wrong, technical rehearsals for a new musical are tough. Things change constantly as the show is shaped and improved. You run the same scenes and numbers over and over to perfect them. And then you dive into previews with actual audiences! Itās the most tiring performance-related experience Iāve ever had. But also the most rewarding. I've loved performing to the gorgeous music by Sam Gevers. We are Queens is a particular favourite, complete with fan-ography!
The creative team have trusted me with so much and Iām so grateful. Thereās such a wonderful, talented group of people behind the show, which is Historaliaās first UK production. They have a wealth of experience producing shows like this at historical residences in Europe and they went big with their first one in England. With the castle itself as the backdrop and even horses, itās unlike most things youāll see in the West End!
Weāve had some wonderful audience feedback and reviews. Congrats team! We still have another few weeks so if you want to see the show, donāt miss your chance! Tickets are on sale here.
Happy ticket-buying!
